We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a growing Finance team within the Creative Media industry. As Payroll Officer you will be an integral part of the team ensuring smooth running of the payroll operations and helping to manage the team during an exciting time of growth and development.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in weekly payroll operations and have the gravitas to manage a busy work load in a fast paced environment.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis, based out of a fantastic London location. The team are a superb bunch and are looking for someone who can work collaboratively and someone who is eager to get stuck in!

Responsibilities:

  • Processing the weekly payroll and pension data for the entire company

  • Complete all statutory and regulatory monthly and annual returns required by HMRC

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance in all payroll-related activities

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll-related queries in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Prepare payroll reports, including statutory requirements, producer reports and pension pay overs, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Oversee a junior member of staff - ensuring that they are on track with tasks set and support with any queries

  • Prepare the schedules for third-party payments, including court orders, childcare vouchers, and union contributions

  • Stay up to date with UK payroll legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance in all payroll-related activities

Key skills:

  • Previous experience working as part of a Payroll function

  • Well versed in weekly payroll operations

  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A natural leader with prior managerial experience would be a bonus!

  • Strong IT skills

  • Strong understanding of UK payroll processes and regulation

  • Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension schemes

  • Team player

  • A genuine interest for the Creative Media/Entertainment industry
