Finance Director - 14 Months Maternity Cover - TV & Film
Award winning TV & Film production company are looking for a highly commercial FD to cover a maternity leave for 14 months. As Finance Director you will take full ownership of the finances and lead and develop the finance team. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO providing support with performance, strategy financial modelling. The Finance Director will be an excellent communicator and able to both lead and manage the existing, high-performing finance team, as well as work closely with non-finance professionals to make financial matters comprehensible.
The successful candidate must have been a previous Finance Director with a media TV/Film background. They will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills generated from significant experience. This individual will have 10 years or more PQE.
Overall purpose of the role:
- Oversight of financial performance and reporting of the business and its subsidiaries to Group. Overall financial approver as Senior Accounting Officer
- Providing advice and guidance on the financial strategy against business objectives, supporting the CEO with a focus on financial planning and modelling
- Develop and control the company's annual operating budget/reforecasts, risks and opportunities to ensure that all financial targets are met and oversight ensuring financial and statutory regulations complied with
- To lead and develop direct reports with a growing finance team
- Direct and manage the business currency risk exposure around hedging and forward contracts
- Full Oversight of working capital management managed by Financial Accountant
- Full oversight of the financing and set up of film structures and complex contractual structures
- Full oversight of company statutory filings, tax credit filings, foreign tax filings and statutory filings. All of which are managed and lead by the Financial Controller.
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA qualified with a minimum 10 years PQE
- Sound understanding IFRS and UK GAAP
- Experience in television/film production
- Proven experience managing a department
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organised and have a high attention to detail
- Strong line management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with direct reports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels
