A fantastic opportunity has come up for a Finance Analyst to join infamous British retail brand.

We are on the hunt for commercially minded individual to support the Finance Manager to provide analysis and insight to enable decisions to be made in the best commercial interests of the business. Day to day you will be monitoring performance and identifying risks and opportunities both internal and external to the organisation.

A successful candidate should be highly analytical with excellent numerical and excel skills, with strong attention to detail and great communication.

This role offers hybrid working with 3 days in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly sales, margin and order book reporting

  • Monthly P&L reporting and management accounts preparation including cost centre reporting, variance analysis, accruals, prepayments, inter-company postings, balance sheet revaluations and reconciliations

  • Strive for continuous improvements in the reporting and analysis of the business's performance

  • Liaising with cost centre managers to ensure costs are controlled and known about in advance.

  • Work closely with the production team to ensure orders are costed correctly

  • Calculation of quarterly agents' commission and issuing of statements

  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register

  • Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts

  • Preparation of year-end and interim audit work papers.

  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as requested by your line manager

Skills:

  • Experience and understanding of wholesale and manufacturing environments (beneficial but not essential)

  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and influence their decision making

  • Strong excel, business analytics and ERP systems knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail and thorough approach to tasks.

  • Problem solving, can-do attitude, willingness and aptitude to solve problems.

  • Good time management and ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Part Qualified (or current studier for) a Professional Accounting Qualification

  • Finance experience gained in a commercial environment
