5 month FTC Exhibitions Manager required. 9th August 2023 - 12th January 2024

The Exhibitions Manager (National Touring) is responsible for the organisational management and delivery of specific national touring projects within the gallery's exhibition programme. You will report in to the Head of Exhibitions.

You will be the key point of contact for specific projects, liaising with museums, galleries, arts organisations, curators, designers, transport agents, ACE and funding bodies.

Manage exhibition tours from start to finish including all contractual negotiations, exhibition budgets and risks associated with each project; schedule and manage the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions in liaison with tour partners.

Salary - £181.06 per day

Location - Central London

Working Days - 4 days a week - hybrid/flexible

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from inception, deinstallation and evaluation with their partners ensuring delivery to milestones and deadlines
  • Manage and monitor loan and contract negotiations, insurance and transport arrangements, design and interpretation processes, in line with risk management and best practice
  • Manage finance & procurement for project budgets including expenditure, forecasting, reporting and cost reconciliations and tendering in line with the Gallery's framework
  • Work collaboratively with partners and ensure that each location is delivering to the agreed schedule, outcomes and budgets
  • Supervise Exhibitions Assistants assigned to each project
  • Management of accurate documentation and reporting

Key Skills:

  • The ideal candidate MUST have previous national touring exhibition experience at a gallery or museum
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of national registrar and exhibition loan management practices and standards
  • Knowledge and experience of standards and regulations for British Government Indemnity and fine art commercial insurance
