Fantastic opportunity to work within Sports Broadcasting! Opportunity for a Sport Scheduler to join a leading Broadcaster for an initial 6 month contract. This role is faced paced, super exciting and offers hybrid working, based in West London on your office day(s) each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Break optimisation and presentation scheduling
  • Delivery of fully optimised, editorially sound and compliant playlists
  • Preparing mid and long term programme schedules
  • Break modelling, optimising on-air time and commercial time in accordance with inventory and marketing strategy
  • Preparing live sport break structure following running orders, Sport Department guidelines and commercial/promotional inventory
  • Import and update external program grids
  • Assessing and optimising airtime for local broadcast
  • Being reactive to changes in programme content, sport rights and repeats of live events
  • Daily on-air scheduling, liaising with in-territory and UK departments to ensure a fully optimised and compliant playlist
  • Support scheduling of live sport broadcasts including contingency playlist
  • Providing assistance to the Live Team
  • Schedule on-air look, placement graphics and legally required graphics
  • Schedule and maintain contingency playlist for standard broadcast as required by SOP's
  • Following up technical issues
  • Liaising with Subtitle Coordinators re subtitles and audio description files


Your experience may include:

  • Scheduling experience related to broadcasting, ideally within free to air/commercial on-air scheduling
  • Good knowledge of the scheduling system
  • Great understanding of sport & live broadcast
  • An understanding of the End to End Broadcast chain.
  • Good knowledge of break optimisation and marketing Strategies
  • Knowledge of European Legislators such as Ofcom & CSA is a benefit
