Handle have teamed up with a Grassroots Football charity and they are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their dynamic team, working 2-4 days per week. This is a paid role at a competitive charity industry rate and depending on how many days will require at least 1-2 days in the office and working from home.

The organisation has grown from 30 FTE in 2022, to 60 FTE currently, with expected growth to result in 80 FTE by the end of 2024. We are looking for an individual who has experience working with high growth companies experiencing similar changing environments.

Whilst the Finance function has developed over the last two years, we are now looking for an experienced Finance professional to help in the Finance department with day to day accounting operations.

The Finance Controller would be hands-on and work on the following:

  • Produce monthly financial reports

  • Develop and improve the financial systems & processes

  • Liaise with the external auditors and manage the audit processes

  • Offer practical guidance & training to the existing finance team

This role will be based at offices in Camden, London. Minimum of 2-days working in the office, the rest can be remote.

Specific duties and responsibilities

  • Manage credit control process

  • Supervise bookkeeping firm

  • Approval purchase invoices

  • Main contact point for auditors

  • Prepare monthly management accounts

  • Prepare budgets & update quarterly forecasts

  • Discuss financials with Chief of Staff & dept heads

  • ACCA preferred
