A global promotional consultancy is looking for a Business Development Manager focusing on the US market. You will leverage existing relationships established over 22 years and create and nurture commercial opportunities to develop long-term relationships directly with brands and their agencies again.
You will join a new sales team that already work with US based clients such as Amazon, Facebook, Cadbury, Subway, O2, Pepsi, Walkers, ASOS, Barclays, American Express, Foot Locker, Pringles, Kellogg's
They help brands and agencies plan, implement, and verify legally compliant promotions. They help bridge the gap between ideas and a well-run execution. Their goal is to help protect client's budget and safeguard their reputation.
Salary: £40,000-45,000. OTE £55,000-£75,000
Location: Pinner, Harrow. 3 days in the office, 2 days at home
Key Responsibilities:
For the three months of the role, you will focus on:
- Obtaining a deep understanding of the business, their services, and processes
- Developing an understanding of the laws, regulations and practices of the USA and UK promotional market
- Shadowing others in the team of 12, to build experience and exposure to client projects.
Within the first three to nine months, the role will focus on:
- Consistent outbound activity, through calls, emails and linked in messaging.
- With an aim to book meetings for the Account Director who will work with you to close these deals
- All deals and prospective deals in this period will be yours to keep and qualify for bonuses.
- The strategy and plan for prospecting as well who to prospect is well established and only requires a proactive individual to execute.
- You will be required to support sales pitches by generating proposals, research, creating slides and documents.
- You will be heavily exposed to clients of a top calibre, speaking to high level marketing directors and executives but always supported by other members of the team.
- This is a USA role, which means the time zones will heavily affect when you can proactively reach out to prospects and when your prospects would like to reach out to you. Therefore, your working hours will be different than the rest of the office.
Key Skills:
- Proven ability to grow and secure new business.
- Career or education in marketing and/or sales
- Capable Adept and proven ability in selling intangible solutions, making the complex appear simple and comfortable selling digital and data products.
- Excellent communicator, both telephone and face-to-face. Strong presentation skills, including group presentations are a key part of the job.
- An active salesperson not afraid of using the phone for proactive calling.
- Strong and determined with a proven ability of hitting targets and objectives.
- Able to spot new business opportunities and upsell where no one else has seen it.
