This role is working for a new tech offering for the leading equipment hire business. Initially required for a fixed period of 12 months, the Head of Corporate Communications will shape the corporate communication function, and support the company through significant change as we continue to establish two distinct business propositions within the Group's operating model.
The role will be responsible for all internal and external corporate communications for the Group's companies, providing strategic direction at the most senior levels of the organisation.
The Role:
Corporate Communications & Reputational Management
- Support the Executive Leadership teams and Board of Directors on all external announcements in accordance with AIM Rules, including the process for RNS releases, content drafting, comms scheduling, and comms support for investor meetings.
- Collaborate closely with the company's PR agency on annual reporting and press reports.
- Provide strategic counsel on media relations, crisis communication, and public affairs. Responsible for the company's Incident Management Plan.
- Lead on the communications strategy for confidential transformation projects that may have implications for colleagues, customers and/or suppliers.
- Work in partnership with the Marketing function to ensure alignment of communications and branding
Internal Communications & Colleague Engagement
- Partner to the CEOs and other Executive Leadership members on their communications plans and activities aimed at engaging and inspiring colleagues, including weekly news bulletins, company updates, and townhall presentations.
- Work closely with the HR Directors of each business to support colleague engagement and any initiatives designed to create a sense of purpose and belonging for colleagues.
- Create and implement a plan to consolidate and streamline colleague communications channels and platforms for each business
- Oversee the development and maintenance of content on the company's existing intranet.
- Support and offer expertise to the Talent Acquisition team on developing, establishing and maintaining an attractive employer brand.
Who we are looking for:
- You will have inspiring energy, gravitas, and an impressive record of developing and implementing communication strategies and supporting change programmes.
- Notable previous experience of supporting Board level communications in a PLC environment, with extensive knowledge of AIM Rules, reporting regulations and disclosure requirements.
- The ability to establish trusted relationships with Executive Leadership teams and senior stakeholders.
- A strategic thinker, skilled in adapting communication plans and the style of content for a range of audiences, and according to differing leadership styles.
- The ability to pivot plans at short notice, and the stamina to overcome challenges and identify solutions in an environment of fast-paced change.
- A creative problem solver, driven to deliver effective solutions.
