We have a client within the Creative Media space on the look out for a new Financial Controller, to join the team on a full time permanent basis. As Financial Controller you will report into the Finance Director and senior members of the company helping to run the day to day finance function.
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for 2 direct reports so we are ideally looking for someone with a strong leadership style, nurturing character and someone who is able to a great brand ambassador and role model.
Offering hybrid working, they are in the offices Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the other two days from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of month-end process including: Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and board pack for the Board of Directors;
Preparing cash flows and managing cash balances;
Management, compliance and overall responsibility for VAT returns;
Provide accurate, relevant and timely MI to the Board and Account Services to ensure that areas of the business under their control can be properly managed;
To take ownership and review the Management Reporting pack of business performance data, including comparison of actual results against plan and previous year, together with commentary, revenue recognition and Key Performance Indicators.
Assisting with the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting process;
Production of the annual statutory accounts and internal financial reports;
Liaising with external auditors regarding the year-end audit and sign off for statutory accounts;
Management of daily financial operations including management of finance team;
Continually review, challenge, revise and then implement changes to the accounting and Management Information (MI) systems to provide maximum insight into company performance;
Systems development: review, devise and implement changes to Paprika and produce MI that can be used to aid decision making;
Supporting the Head of Finance with Ad-hoc project work: supporting commercial projects related to the continuing growth and development of the business;
Ensure that all financial controls are in place across the company so to eliminate financial risk and loss.
Manage the complete job cycle for client projects;
Ensuring timely processing of fee and expense billings to the clients, WIP management, processing revenue and expense recognition;
Providing guidance to Account services/Production teams to ensure adherence to internal controls;
Client Profitability reporting;
Raising Sales invoices in a timely manner
Job maintenance on Paprika (opening and closing jobs)
Updating Pipeline
Uploading budgets onto Paprika and reconcile production jobs;
Oversee weekly job profitability reporting;
Regular meetings with account teams to review WIP;
Ongoing Training of Account team staff in commercial matters
Key Skills:
Previous agency experience is beneficial
CIMA/ACCA qualified
3 years + experience in a similar role
Excellent communication skills
Experience within regards to revenue recognition and WIP management is vital
Exposure to WIP management is essential
A bubbly, fun personality which will fit in with the rest of the team culture is important
An outgoing and confident personality with the ability to work with colleagues of all levels is vital
Ability to influence at all levels
Be able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively
