I am seeking a talented Developer and Designer to support the Email Design Team in coding the business as usual (BAU), brand mailers and triggered emails, as well as any ad-hoc email briefs that are submitted.

About The Role
I am seeking a talented Email Developer & Designer to support the Email Design Team in coding and designing editorial, brand mailers, triggered and transactional emails, and any ad-hoc email briefs submitted. As an Email Developer and Designer, you will specialise in coding and building HTML emails ready for deployment through SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC) using reusable blocks. You will have some experience with triggered emails and the use of JSON tags. The role also requires you to support the team in designing email layouts in either Photoshop or Sketch, following briefs from the content team for BAU emails and from brands for brand mailer emails. You will be working very collaboratively with writers and editors to layout visuals and with designers to build and code for one of my clients key digital platforms for approval across the Creative Content and CRM teams

The ideal candidate will be customer focused and flexible to the needs of the team. They will have excellent planning and organisation skills, as well as keeping up to date and aware of improvements in code and also eager to learn and develop new skills. They will work on multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work to tight timescales.
You will also possess:
Build HTML emails ready for deployment through SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC) using reusable blocks. Often creating multiple dynamic versions
Design email in either Photoshop or Sketch following brief from the content team for BAU emails and follow brief from brands for brand mailer emails.
Make any necessary amends following feedback from CRM team during testing.
Ensure the templates are continually optimised, keeping up to date on email best practices and latest developments
Build new templates as and when they are approved, potentially including interactive elements with suitable fallbacks for main client
Must make email client checks and ensure we adhere to email best practice for delivery across mobile, tablet and desktop platforms. As well as ensuring it displays as expected in dark mode.
Strong technical skills (HTML, CSS)
Experience with triggered emails including setting up dynamic content using JSON tags and handlebars
An excellent understanding of email client constraints, browsers and accessibility guidelines.
