Digital Programme Manager - London £45k

An opportunity for a Digital Programme Manager has arisen at one of the UK's top galleries.

The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for the programme and project management capabilities in delivering the digital services programme of work. They support a cross-department governance process to manage and monitor the delivery on the Gallery's strategic objectives, ensuring that projects align to strategic goals and that financial and project objectives are met.

You will be responsible for;

  • Delivery of a new Digital Growth strategy, which will focus on the Gallery's next significant step as a digital institution preparing for the bicentenary and beyond
  • Delivery of a suite of projects and supporting work for the NG200 Bicentenary programme
  • A commitment to bringing innovation practices and technology into the Gallery, through both project methodologies and public-facing outputs.

What your day will look like;

  • Use programme management frameworks to plan, manage and develop the Digital Services programme of work, incorporating defined activities, benefits, KPIs and expected timelines and milestones, and ensuring that activity aligns with the Gallery's strategic goals
  • Prepare and manage roadmaps and timelines showing the programme's critical path and key milestones
  • Work with appropriate colleagues in departments across the Gallery to align schedules and roadmaps for cross-departmental projects, and assess the impact on and of other activities across the organisation
  • Ensure all projects within the digital programme are completed on schedule and within budget, and make appropriate reports to Trustees, Executive Committee, Digital Advisory Group and others as appropriate
  • Deliver a consistent project control framework to manage risks, issues and quality, and manage the risk register
  • Manage the department's budget, tracking spend across all projects and ensuring project teams adhere to set budgets, maintaining audit trails and purchasing in accordance with best value principles
  • Lead internal departmental communications at a programme level, ensuring department heads and function leads across the Gallery are kept abreast of plans, activity, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with development colleagues to secure funding opportunities through e.g. sponsorship and research grants, ensuring relevant information for proposals and reporting is supplied and contractual obligations are met
  • Support the development of robust digital project teams, defining any new resource needs to deliver them
  • Work alongside appropriate colleagues and leaders to coordinate, support, challenge and ensure the on-track delivery of key strategic initiatives
  • Ensure mechanisms and processes are in place to maximise the effectiveness of the programme
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders involved in the bicentenary capital and engagement programme (NG200) to champion the digital team's output, align resources and ensure delivery of projects are on time and budget
  • Manage, advise and support the Senior Project Manager and Project Managers in their delivery of digital projects

You should have the following skills;

  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex programmes, using agile-based or other programme management methodologies to deliver to time, spec and within budget
  • Ability to present cross-departmental road maps effectively and clearly using appropriate digital tools
  • Proven Excel proficiency with experience in financial planning, reforecasting and one-off analysis
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with confidence to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders to the benefit of projects and the programme
  • Ability to provide solutions to complex issues, with consideration of overall impact on multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, providing clear vision of desired outcomes

Also the following is required for this role;

  • Relevant project and/or programme management qualification, such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, AgilePgM, MSP.
