We are working with a International Arts and entertainment business that produce and licence a well known musician.

They are looking for an assistant accountant to join their business and is a great role for a part-qualified accountant to gain a broad understanding of the theatre industry as well as being responsible for key finance processes and a key finance contact for the business.

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate collection, processing and reporting of income as well as the accounts payable function.

  • Assist with month end management accounts preparation, administrative services as well as cash reconciliation.

  • Analysing and explaining key movements and variances in subsidiary income gross margin variances.

  • support the Royalties Manager with first class production and stock & amateur royalty accounting.

This role is responsible for paying out royalties in relation to licences and productions and dealing with all related queries.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Part qualified accountant e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA;

  • Experience with credit control and sales ledger activities;

  • Experience with managing purchase ledger activities;

  • Strong Microsoft skills especially Excel;

  • Communications skills and experience of dealing with senior individuals;

  • Ability to interpret and present complex financial information to non-finance professionals;

  • Previous experience of management information reporting and analytical skills;

  • Continuous evaluation of financial processes and systems to make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies;

  • Main finance contact for key business stakeholders and royalty holders ;

  • Ability to collaborate closely with colleagues within the finance team and be a team player.

Desirable knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Previous experience of royalty processing and royalty accounting;

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting system preferred;

  • Knowledge of royalty systems - Music Maestro;

  • An interest in the theatre and the arts and/or previous work experience in an arts or entertainment environment.
