Celebrating Creativity... 🌤️
This weekend, Deptford Literature Festival is celebrating the creativity and diversity of Deptford and Lewisham with a festival committed to ensuring that literature is accessible to all.
Running until Sunday, March 30th, and taking place in venues across Deptford, the festival will feature an exciting mix of performances, author conversations, readings, and writing workshops. It’s a space for local talent and literature lovers of any age to connect, share stories, and get inspired - whether you’re a writer, reader, or just curious.
This year’s lineup features artists like Caleb Azumah Nelson, Emma Warren, and Irenosen Okojie, among others. The festival launch kicks off tonight at the Albany (Friday, 28th, 7:30 pm) with Lewisham Lyricist's, a special event celebrating the borough’s rich history of MCs and poets - also available to stream online: https://lnkd.in/e887qm-b
Accessibility is at the heart of the festival and The Festival At Home initiative will allow participation from anywhere, with BSL interpretation for all in-person events (Friday-Sunday) and captions on all online events. Plus, many of the headline events will be recorded and made available for streaming after the festival.
With 45 out of 48 events completely free and special free tickets for Lewisham residents on low incomes available, the festival is committed to ensuring that literature is accessible to all.

About Handle Recruitment
We opened the doors in 1978 and built our reputation in the music industry. We quickly realised that a great brand is not always a household name. A great brand is something people connect with, not just a place they work. Somewhere that helps them become better at what they do. It could be a record label, it could be in media, it could be a tech start-up.
