case study: media recruitment drive across Europe for Red Bull Media House.

Due to ambitious growth plans, Red Bull Media House, the leading multi-platform media company with a focus on sports, culture and lifestyle were looking to expand their TV content sales team to focus on key European broadcasters and platforms. There was an initial requirement for 4 TV Sales Managers based in London. 

The key challenge was to find candidates with relevant language and territory experience, coupled with a proven track record in programme sales (both linear and digital) and possessing an entrepreneurial, ‘can-do’ personality - cultural fit was absolutely key.

Our approach was a targeted search campaign across relevant and comparable distributors across Europe. An initial long list was produced to ensure full market coverage. Relevant candidates were then identified, approached and interviewed against strict criteria and competencies. A high quality shortlist for each role was then presented to Red Bull with the assurance that candidates were an excellent fit from a both a technical and competency perspective. This ensured that Red Bull Media House were not wasting time interviewing unsuitable candidates and only seeing people who were genuinely committed to the company and role.

As a result of the process, all roles were successfully recruited. Additionally, due to the success of the campaign, handle were instructed to undertake a search for a Global Editor in Chief (based Salzburg), which was also successfully completed.
